How and why we use information
Provide the platform
We create accounts, support funding workflows, organise opportunities, facilitate controlled introductions and respond to enquiries. We do this to perform our contract with you or take steps at your request before entering one.
Operate and protect Fundry
We authenticate users, investigate misuse, keep audit records, maintain the service and improve its operation. We rely on our legitimate interests in running a secure, effective business and platform.
Communicate with you
We send account activation and service messages, answer questions and provide relevant platform updates. We rely on contract, legitimate interests or consent, depending on the communication.
Meet legal obligations
We may use and retain information to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, establish or defend legal claims and maintain appropriate financial, compliance and corporate records.
Lenders and other platform users
Opportunity information may be shown to authorised lenders and Fundry administrators as the funding process progresses. Contact details and supporting documents are released only through the platform workflow where the relevant access has been approved.
A lender receiving information becomes independently responsible for its own use of that information.
Service providers and other recipients
We may share information with providers supporting our hosting, database, file storage, email, security and professional services. We may also disclose information to regulators, courts, law enforcement, professional advisers or a purchaser of our business where legally permitted or required.
Providers acting for us may only process information under our instructions and appropriate contractual safeguards.
Artificial intelligence
Fundry uses Microsoft Azure OpenAI to help draft funding information memoranda. The service may receive structured opportunity details including the company name, funding purpose, financial figures, business description, assets, personal security and existing debt information.
AI-generated text is an aid to the funding workflow and should be reviewed by people. Fundry does not use it to make solely automated lending decisions with legal or similarly significant effects; lenders make their own assessments.
Read how Fundry uses AIInternational transfers
Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this occurs, we use a lawful transfer mechanism, such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual safeguards, and apply additional measures where required.
You can contact us for more information about the safeguards relevant to your information.
Retention
We generally retain account, opportunity and funding relationship records while the account or relationship is active and for up to six years afterwards. This supports legal, regulatory, accounting and dispute-resolution requirements.
Some records may be kept for a shorter period where no longer needed, or longer where law, a dispute, fraud prevention or an ongoing investigation requires it. When retention ends, information is deleted or anonymised.
Security
We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect information, including authenticated access, role-based permissions, audit records and controlled document release.
No internet service is completely secure. You must keep your credentials confidential and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
Your data protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you the right to:
- request access to the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- ask us to erase or restrict the use of information;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests or to direct marketing;
- receive certain information in a portable format; and
- withdraw consent at any time where processing relies on consent.
How to exercise your rights
Email hello@fundry.co.uk. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first.
Cookies
Fundry uses cookies that are necessary for sign-in, security and core website operation. These cannot be switched off through the service because the platform would not function correctly without them. We will update this notice and seek consent before introducing non-essential cookies where consent is required.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as Fundry or the law changes. We will publish the revised notice here, change the effective date and provide an additional notice where a change materially affects how we use your information.
